Organic Teas

When most of the food we eat is prepared with all kinds of chemicals, fillers and food coloring, we at Buddha Teas choose to embrace the natural. That’s why more than 90% of our teas are certified organic by CCOF, California’s leading organic certifier. What does organic mean for you? It means that every tea in this selection was raised without any chemicals, and is prepared without the use of preservatives, food coloring or added flavoring. Enjoy tea as it was meant to be tasted.

Consumers today are growing more and more aware of the potential health risks of the many chemicals included in our food, leading many people to seek a better option. In the last few years, the demand for an organic alternative has risen higher than ever before. Some, however, are unsure of exactly what the organic label means or what its importance is. In fact, the organic logo is actually a surprisingly big deal.

In order for any tea leaf, herb, or other plant substance to be labeled organic, it must be as natural as possible. An organic plant cannot be genetically modified, and must never be treated with any kind of pesticide, herbicide or chemical fertilizer. Any product then made from this plant must also be free of chemicals and additives. Most importantly, for a company to use the organic label, they must be certified by a USDA-approved certifier, which investigates their methods to ensure they meet organic standards. When you see the organic seal on our boxes, you can rest assured that the tea contained within has been carefully scrutinized and approved for its pure, natural quality.
