USDA Certified Organic

Buddha Teas works closely with farmers and local suppliers to ensure that we source the highest quality herbs possible. We strive to provide herbs that are Certified Organic.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires that anyone who produces, processes or handles organic agricultural products must be certified by a USDA-accredited certifier in order to sell, label, or represent their products as "organic."  To become certified, an organic producer, processor, or handler must develop, implement, and maintain an organic system plan.

A USDA-accredited certifier is an independent organization that ranks a company’s products and practices and certifies them only after having verified that the company adheres to all organic regulations. Buddha Teas has been evaluated and certified by California Certified Organic Farmers, better known as CCOF. As the first organic certification entity to be established in the United States, CCOF is one of the most respected organic certifiers in the country.

Organic certification is not a guarantee of the quality or purity of the product. Rather, it is evidence of the operation's adherence to a prescribed system of agriculture and food production that involves the building and enhancing of the soil naturally, protection of the environment, humane treatment of animals, and avoidance of toxic synthetic substances.
