In the Know

As a Biological Response Modifier (BRM), this organic superfood wonder supports the immune system like no other element found in the natural world. With antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties that help explain its high ORAC value, the chaga mushroom makes for a deliciously nurturing, earthy tasting tea.

What is Chaga Mushroom?

The first evidence of the chaga mushroom is dated as far back as 4000 B.C. Since the beginning, this fungus has been utilized for health purposes, often to sooth intestinal upset, and, later, to support a sluggish or failing immune system. Around 200 B.C. Chinese healers began employing chaga when practicing medicine. Today, drinking chaga tea has become a bit trendy. But as you now know, this seemingly new wave of mushroom healing isn’t new at all. In the last 50 years, at least 1,600 research documents have presented the health-enriching aspects of the chaga mushroom.

What Does Buddha Teas Chaga Tea Taste Like?

As you might imagine, brewing tea from a substance that grows on the side of a tree results in an earthy flavor profile. Imagine yourself sitting under a birch tree, the warmth of the sun gently kissing your skin. You can smell the moist earth underneath, as the quiet of the forest envelops you in peaceful bliss. That being said, you may find it surprising that this tea holds very little mushroom taste. Buddha Teas Chaga Tea is a medium-bodied tea, and is delightful on its own, but also is delicious with honey, or other preferred sweetener. For a creamier experience, add a smidge of your favorite milk option.

How to Make Chaga Tea

In order to maintain the integrity of all the magic hidden within, most recommend that this tea be brewed at a temperature below boiling, at about 175°-180° F. Let steep a long while to extract full benefits.

Our exceptional Chaga Tea is made from organic chaga mushrooms, and utilizes the fruiting body of the mushroom.

Review Title: Chaga Chaga Choo Choo!

Review by Reneeon January 13, 2021
My terrible joke aside, this tea is wonderful. It has an earthy taste, which I love, and it isn't too strong. I was looking for some non-caffeinated teas that had a mild taste that I could sip on all day. I personally don't drink it for the health benefits, but I for sure don't mind them.

Review Title: Great

Review Title: Soothing and Delicious

Review by Jayon January 5, 2021
I love this tea! It's pure chaga, no filler! It has a very mild, earthy taste that is great on its own, and stellar with some cinnamon and nutmeg. I have not used it specifically for any of its purported properties, but the high antioxidant levels are very impressive!

Review Title: Recommended to my wife and mother.

Review by Lawsonon December 29, 2020
The Chaga Tea has been my go-to immune booster for the past few years, and now I've gotten my loved ones drinking it, too. At the first signs illness I drink multiple steeps of this tea, and it has always worked for me. The taste is quite mild and mixes well with whatever other teas I've tried (black tea, green tea, chamomile, and lavender).
