In the Know

While most people are familiar with hops for its use in flavoring beer, the history and useful qualities of this plant is much more varied. Hops, as most know them, are female flowers grown and harvested from the hop plant, which grow in large green cones roughly the size of the human palm. Hops have had a number of historic uses, included in crafting dyes, ropes and paper, before Europeans discovered that their bitter, tangy flavor made them a perfect agent for adding flavor to beer. They also helped to preserve the beer longer than was possible at the time, making them an ideal ingredient for the alcoholic beverage. Today, hops may also be used to flavor mead, soft drinks in Sweden, and to create herbal teas such as this high quality herbal brew.

Distinct and Refreshing

For those who may not care for the strong flavor, hops tea offers other incentives for giving this herbal brew a chance. Drinking hops tea can provide your body with a boost in vitamin C, thiamin and niacin, as well as minerals such as calcium, chromium, potassium and magnesium. The active constituents found in hops tea include amino acids, flavonoids, tannins, quercetin, and catechins, and, naturally, hops tea is also a source of antioxidants.

Purchasing and Drinking Hops Tea

Broaden your tea experience with a cup of hops tea. This tea is known to have a strong, sometimes bitter flavor, which some find invigorating and refreshing. For those who prefer a milder or sweeter tea, honey or sugar can be added to brighten up this brew. Alternatively, you can try steeping it along with another herbal favorite, like spearmint tea, for a cool, unique blend. Mix and match with your favorites to create a tea that’s perfectly suited to you!

Review Title: hops tea

Review by Donnaon June 18, 2018
I found the flavor a little unusual but I enjoyed it.

Review Title: Non-IPA Lover

Review by Melissaon July 3, 2017
I wanted to try hops tea for health reasons of horrible menopause. Only ordered one box because I really, really don't like hoppy beers. While the flavor is quite bitter for me, it is manageable with agave or honey. I haven't noticed any change in sleep but I do feel more relaxed after drinking a cup. It does seem to be helping decrease flashes. Ordering more!

Review Title: Great Product, Great Company!

Review by Laurenon July 3, 2017
My package arrived quickly and with no trouble so that's already a few stars! The first time I tasted the Hops tea it was jarringly bitter. By the time I got to the end of my cup though, I was in love. It's even more relaxing than chamomile! I let my roommate taste it and she says it's like beer without the calories, lol! I wouldn't go THAT far but if you like IPAs then you need to try this yummy tea!

I have no complaints about the tea or the quick shipment. I love this tea, it gets more bitter as it sits but I enjoy it with some honey.
Giving some as gifts to friends..we all love the hops!

Review Title: Taste not for me

Review by Janeon March 15, 2017
I don't like the taste, I combine it with Sleepy Time or mint. However, I do think it helps me sleep so it's worth it.

Review Title: Dry Hopping with Buddha

Review by Barbeeon March 13, 2017
Doing research on the dry hopping of beers, I found success here with Buddha Hops Tea. What surprised me is that I ALSO found drinking a chilled glass of Hops Tea can be a satisfying low calorie, non-alcoholic substitute for my usual craft brew. Who Knew? Heck I might even lose a little belly weigh!
(Dry hopping is a technique where one can add a fresher and more complex favor to commercial beers by dipping a 'tea bag' of hops in your favorite cold brew and letting it steep for a bit. A tea bag can be reused several times.)

Review Title: Wonderful tea for an IPA drinker

Review by Owenon February 26, 2017
On medication where I cannot drink alcohol. I have always drank tea throughout the day and a beer when I got home from work. Turns out I really missed the bitter little flower. This tea with a little honey is awesome! I will continue drinking this even when I can drink beer again.

Review Title: Delicious

Review by Danielon January 11, 2017
I enjoy drinking hop tea at night before bed. Hops are naturally calming and this tea makes for a good way to end the day.
