In the Know

Though the FDA does not endorse white horehound for use as a medicine, this immune-boosting ancient herb, with antiviral and antioxidant properties, is one you’ll want to keep stocked in your medicinal tea cupboard.

What Exactly in White Horehound

White horehound is a flowering plant in the mint family that has been naturalized across the globe. Mentioned in conjunction with medicinal use since at least the first century BC, its use was aimed at respiratory issues, and to treat worms in animals. Today, those dealing with respiratory issues go to white horehound to find relief. Though this flowering plant in the mint family, also known as Marrubium vulgare, looks like mint, and is part of the mint family, when made into a tea, it does not taste minty.

Elegantly Enriching

As you sip this herbal tea, you provide your body with an enriching boost of vitamins and minerals. White Horehound Tea offers vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin B complex, as well as iron and potassium. The herb is also a natural source of alkaloids, tannins, pectin, flavonoids and volatile acids, several of which act as antioxidants.

Review Title: We Might Still Be A Colony

Review by roberton January 6, 2020
It is fortunate the horehound flower was not known or grown at the time the colonists chose to dump over 46 tons of tea into Boston Harbor. Had it been around, we might still be a colony. A great tasting tea/medicine. I have a lung condition with a big scary name. I drink two cups daily mixing the Horehound with Mullein Tea. Occasionally I will sprinkle a little cayenne pepper into the mix. It works for me.

Review Title: Too Bitter

Review by MissPhinon June 3, 2019
I had the tea steeped as directed on the box, it was really bitter, so much honey couldn't change the taste either.

Review Title: Powerful cup of goodness

Review by Carineon February 13, 2019
As a first time buyer, I was pleasantly surprised. It is bitter in a good way :)

Review Title: Alright

Review by Kamaon October 8, 2018
I wanted to try this for digestive reasons. It works for that but I am not a fan of the taste, too peppery for me. When had an upset stomach, managed to drink 1/2 cup and felt better quicker than expected.

As I changed my place of residence ( and climate ) I had issues with weight and digestive system but this tea helped me a lot. I take it with no sugar, I'm adding 1 bag of camomille tea to 1 bag of horehound tea.

Review Title: WH Tea

Review by Rebekkaon February 25, 2016
This tea is great because it helps me recover extremely fast from a health issue. The flavor I rated low because I don't like the taste, but that will not deter me from buying it again.

Review Title: Quieted my problem!!

Review by Saraon September 18, 2015
I read up on this herb first. Its been used by Native Americans for centuries. For two years I've had a chronic health problem. My house is over 150 years old so mold and mildew hide in all walls and crevices. Because of this, my problem was so physical it would wrack my body til I thought I'd pass out. Now two weeks later, having a cup of this tea a day, my problem has subsided to the point where I've become so productive, I can't remember what it was like. Will review this further as the weeks go by.

Review Title: Bound to White Horehound

I used to just buy whatever green tea was at the store. Now I try a new tea on here every month and so far this one is my favorite. Gonna try Yarrow next!
