In the Know

If you’re familiar with the taste of traditional healing Chinese herbs (even though yellow dock does not hail from Asia), you will welcome our Yellow Dock Root Tea into your arsenal of medicinally-minded herbal teas. If you aren’t, then gather your courage and venture into what most experience as a bitter, yet potentially healing, tea-drinking endeavor.

What Exactly is Yellow Dock Root?

A Native American powerhouse, yellow dock belongs to a family of plants that includes rhubarb, sorrel, and buckwheat. When it comes to its power to purify, cleanse, and renew, however, this highly beneficial herb beats the heck out the others. When used as a tea, yellow dock root is usually prepared for medicinal purposes, rather than for the focus of a delightful afternoon tea party. Rightly so!

Review Title: Different

Review by Charleson March 15, 2017
The tea is not your normal off the shelf morning tea. It does have a bit higher than normal bitterness to it, but I'm drinking it for the benefits, not for the elegant tones. The good far outweighs the bite. Try it, you won't be disappointed with the results.

Been drinking it 2 to 3 times a day for a week now and noticing less bloating and flatter stomach. Not as bitter as Neem tea but does take some getting used to.

Review Title: Bitter if you're not careful

Review by SARAFINAon January 11, 2017
My first time trying this tea I brewed it for about 8-10 minutes. I took a sip and almost spit it right back up (I'm exaggerating). There's an underlying sweetness to this tea but the bitterness was overpowering. I suggest brewing it with another tea (like ginger) and adding honey as well as brewing for a short amount of time. Overall, this was a good tea that when brewed correctly is perfect for any time of the day.

Review Title: Healthy Tea!

Review by Matthewon September 30, 2015
This tea is quite healthy for you and I am noticing more alertness. The tea is bitter, so I wouldn't steep too long. Add honey, agave , ginger or all three for taste. The health benefits are worth the bitter taste. God Bless and enjoy!
