About Organic Rooibos

Organic Rooibos comes from the Aspalathus linearis plant, a shrub native to the Cederberg region of South Africa. Often referred to as “red bush,” rooibos has been enjoyed by Indigenous communities for generations as a naturally caffeine-free herbal infusion.

Unlike traditional teas, rooibos is not made from the Camellia sinensis plant. Instead, its needle-like leaves are harvested, bruised, and oxidized, giving rooibos its signature reddish color and smooth, rounded flavor.

When brewed, rooibos produces a rich amber cup with naturally sweet, vanilla-like notes and no bitterness.

Benefits & Wellness Role

Rooibos is traditionally enjoyed as a gentle, everyday herbal tea suitable for any time of day. Its smooth flavor and caffeine-free nature make it a favorite for both morning and evening rituals.

Rooibos is commonly appreciated for:

  • Its long history of traditional use in South Africa
  • A smooth, naturally sweet, low-tannin flavor
  • Supporting calm, balanced tea routines
  • Being naturally caffeine-free

Because of its versatility, rooibos pairs beautifully with both single-ingredient teas and deeper herbal or mushroom blends.

Brewing Ritual & How to Enjoy

To brew Organic Rooibos Tea, steep one tea bag in hot water just off the boil for 5–7 minutes. Rooibos is naturally forgiving and will not become bitter with longer steeping.

Enjoy rooibos tea when:

  • You want a caffeine-free tea any time of day
  • You prefer smooth, naturally sweet herbal flavors
  • You’re creating an evening or family-friendly tea ritual
  • You want a base that pairs well with earthy blends

Pro Tips:

  • Excellent hot or iced
  • Add a splash of milk or honey for a dessert-like cup
  • Pairs especially well with mushroom-based teas
