Our journey began with that belief.
When our founder, John Boyd, came to the United States from England, he was struck by how limited the tea landscape was — especially for pure, unadulterated teas crafted without artificial flavors or unnecessary additives.
Driven by a passion for the authentic qualities of herbs and traditional teas, John partnered with longtime friend and entrepreneur Nicholas Marier to create a company focused on purity, integrity, and experience — not shortcuts.
They wanted something different:

During a meditation retreat in 2008, John was searching for a way to convey the company’s intentions — not through slogans, but through spirit.
He chose a name that symbolizes harmony with the world:
simplicity, generosity, compassion, and a commitment to wellbeing.
This wasn’t about religion — it was about mindset:
